Roma Balwani, joined Vedanta as President, Group Communications and Sustainable Development & member of the Group Executive Committee which comprises of the leadership team at Vedanta.
Roma oversees key portfolios of strategic sustainability & csr communications, brand management, stakeholder engagement to promote Vedanta’s position as a purpose driven organization. Her focus is on stakeholder engagement globally that includes transparent dialogues on HSE and Social License to Operate with socially responsible investors, bankers, lenders, business partners, civil society and trade bodies.
Roma has over three decades of experience in various aspects of strategic communications. She speaks at several summits on Sustainable Development & Communications and has won several Indian and International awards and accolades. Prior to joining Vedanta, she was the Chief Group Communications Officer at Mahindra Group, India.
She is an economics graduate, with a PG Marketing from the Mumbai university. She completed EMP from Michigan Ross Business School, USA & Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
Roma is an Independent Director of CMI FPE Ltd., subsidiary of the Belgium manufacturer, CMI Industry Metals. She is the Chairperson of the CSR committee of CMI FPE.
