Runa Pathak is an accomplished corporate social responsibility and sustainability leader serving as Deputy General Manager – CSR & Sustainability at Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd., with over 20 years of professional experience across the pharmaceutical and food industries. Her professional journey reflects a deep commitment to inclusive development, sustainable livelihoods, community empowerment, and responsible business practices. She believes that corporate social responsibility must extend beyond conventional philanthropy to create measurable, long-term improvements in the lives of communities, particularly those facing socioeconomic vulnerabilities. Her work focuses on aligning corporate resources and business priorities with grassroots development needs through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and sustainable interventions. At Jubilant FoodWorks, Ms. Pathak leads the organization's CSR and sustainability initiatives, contributing to programs that address rural livelihood development, healthcare access, skill enhancement, women's empowerment, and environmental sustainability. One of the significant areas of her engagement has been the Dairy Farmer Development Programme, implemented in partnership with the BAIF Development Research Foundation. The initiative adopts an integrated approach to strengthening rural livelihoods through farmer training, improved cattle productivity, artificial insemination, animal welfare, and the involvement of Pashu Sakhis. The program seeks to enhance milk productivity and improve incomes for dairy-farming communities while promoting more sustainable agricultural practices. She has also been associated with J-Farm, an initiative supporting youth employability through industry-oriented skill development and creating pathways for young people from underserved backgrounds to access employment opportunities in the food-service sector. Prior to joining Jubilant FoodWorks, Ms. Pathak worked with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. These professional associations provided her with exposure to institutional development, community-based interventions, rural development, and strategic CSR implementation. Her experience across the development and corporate sectors has shaped her understanding of collaborative approaches to addressing complex social challenges. Academically, Ms. Pathak is associated with Banaras Hindu University and is pursuing a PhD in Corporate Social Responsibility. She has presented research papers at international academic conferences organized by IIM Shillong, IIM Sambalpur, and IIM Bodh Gaya, reflecting her interest in connecting academic research with practical approaches to sustainability and social impact.
